Atiku Abubakar, the People Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 presidential contender, visited former President Muhammadu Buhari in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, on Saturday, June 22.
The former vice president arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport, Katsina aboard a private jet at about 11:25am from where he went straight to Daura where he visited the former President in his home.
Atiku was accompanied on the visit by former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; former National Secretary of the PDP, Ibrahim Tsauri, party stakeholders and his supporters.
Speaking with journalists in Katsina after the visit, the former vice president said he paid the former president and the Emir of Daura a visit to congratulate them for the successful celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festivity.
Reacting to photos from the visit, Doyin Okupe like some Nigerians believe the visit is politically motivated and is geared towards the 2027 election. Atiku in a recent interview said he will continue to contest for Presidency as long as he is healthy.
