An online user from Nigeria expressed his dissatisfaction with the monthly pay he received from his primary place of assignment.
The amount that the individual known as @OmHaddy received from his PPA for the month of January 2024 was posted on Twitter (X). Two thousand naira was paid to him.
The young corps member bemoaned how, with the absurd amount he receives each month, he is expected to improve himself.
He tweeted
“If I post a screenshot of how much I’m paid monthly where my PPA attached me to, this timeline would go bonkers. If not for prospects of being a 9-5 worker, this scheme is highly unnecessary.”
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member expressed his dismay and explained why he believes the program is overhyped and useless. He also included a screenshot of the N2,000 credit notice that he received from his PPA.
He came to the conclusion that his daily expenses, such as transportation and food, could not be met by the monthly allowance.
“monthly allowance that can’t take me to and fro Kubwa – Asokoro in a day —feeding exclusive”
The man’s dissatisfaction has drawn attention from online users, eliciting a range of responses and recommendations. Some responded by complaining that their places of service did not pay them a monthly salary, while others thought the NYSC program ought to be abandoned.
