After losing to the Super Eagles in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semifinal, Victor Boniface, a striker for Bayern Leverkusen and a member of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, made fun of South Africa by saying that it would be difficult for Nigerians to get a visa for the country.
Nigeria advanced to the competition’s final by defeating Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalties. On Wednesday night, February 7, the match finished in a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes. The game then went to penalties, which Nigeria won.
Reacting to the win, Victor Boniface;
“To be NIGERIAN…You no no Wetinx God do for you This country so sweet,” the Bayer Leverkusen man wrote on X.
“To get South Africa VIsa go hard die now,” he added.
Nigeria will now face the tournament’s host country, Ivory Coast, in the championship match on Sunday, February 11. On Saturday, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo will compete for third place.
