Bramall is said to have impressed Arsenal scouts and is set to become Arsene Wenger’s first signing of the January window. The 20-year-old full-back was playing semi-professional football for non-league side Hednesford Town when he was spotted. Arsene Wenger suggested the deal was close to being finalised yesterday, and Bramall’s agent Dan Chapman has since confirmed he has already begun training with the Gunners. “It sounds crass to say this is a dream come true for Cohen but it clearly is,” Chapman told website FootballLondon.
“We love playing a part in helping a young man, who was working full-time in the Bentley factory until made redundant recently, whilst playing for Hednesford as well, become a professional footballer and now have – if he grabs his opportunity – a fabulous career ahead of him.
“He has been training with the Arsenal first team while this move has been under consideration, so he is definitely going there with the intent on breaking through eventually.” “Obviously he has a huge amount of development and work to do.
“Any player moving from part-time to professional football takes a while to adapt but in this case the jump in levels is so high.
“Realistically we can expect Cohen to cut his teeth in Under-23 football but we are confident he will break through at senior level in good time.”
