In an effort to address unemployment in the nation, the Federal Government has taught 541 young people advanced agricultural skills, according to Ayodele Olawande, Minister for Youth Development.
The minister made this declaration at the conclusion of the training session at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Center in Jos, Plateau State, according to a statement released on Saturday by Ebunoluwa Esan, the director of press.
According to Olawande, the Ministry of Youth Development organized the program, which concentrated on skills including fisheries, beekeeping, and cassava processing.
Speaking on behalf of the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya, the minister stated that the program’s objective was to give participants agricultural and entrepreneurial skills in order to promote self-reliance.
The initiative was created to empower Nigerian adolescents and allow them to reach their full potential, he said, assuring the 541 participants chosen from the North East, North West, and North Central areas that it will continue.
Instead of always looking for work, we want you to become an employer of labor. I can state with confidence that we are actively moving forward and that the Ministry of Youth Development prioritizes youth in agriculture.
