At least fifteen individuals have been extricated from beneath the debris as a result of the
continuing rescue efforts at the site of Tuesday’s explosion in the Bodija neighborhood of Ibadan.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Wednesday, Mr. Olaleye Ojo, the Branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross, Oyo State Branch, made this statement.
He mentioned that the Red Cross, NEMA, SEMA, and security agencies were among the organizations that collaborated to carry out the operation.
According to Ojo, the rescue effort started early on Wednesday.
He claims that people have been receiving care from the officials and being transported to
different hospitals.
Rescue efforts are still in progress, and we’re working to learn more about the local population.
“It is not possible for us to pinpoint the exact end date of the operation,” stated Ojo.
He said the explosion destroyed roughly thirty buildings.
According to Ojo, the injured individuals were sent to adjacent hospitals since the government had taken steps to ensure they wouldn’t be turned away.
He stated, “Hospitals have been adhering to government directives to accept explosion victims and provide them with appropriate treatment.” (NAN)
