Man accused of stealing a motorcycle set ablaze in Benue

A man accused of stealing a motorcycle has been set ablaze by a mob in Makurdi, Benue State.
The incident happened along Akpehe road in the early hours of Sunday, April 13, 2025.
According to a resident, Ngusha Ugye, the suspect and his “accomplice” allegedly stole a motorcycle.
A woman recognised the bike and called the attention of youths in the area who ran after the men and caught one.
“These boys stole Havilla’s bike early hours of today, a lady saw the bike and recognized it as they were pushing it, she called the attention of the Area boys, one ran away, luck ran out of this one, area set him ablaze even before the owner of the bike ll arrive! . before the police ll get there, guy don go! It is well with us. Na wetin I hear be that. Meanwhile say no to jungle justice no matter what,” he wrote.
The latest mob action comes a few days after another  man accused of being a motorcycle thief narrowly escaped jungle justice along Angus Fraser College, Makurdi.
