The midfielder has been given the nod by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to leave Old Trafford and talks with Everton are in an advanced stage. It is believed the Goodison club had an opening bid of £19m rejected by United. But they will have no hesitation in upping the cash by £3m. Personal terms have already been finalised between Everton and Schneiderlin, 27, and the deal will be wrapped up in the next couple of days.
Koeman has made no secret of making the former Southampton man his priority signing after admitting he is looking to “bring in an older more experienced midfielder in the position.” United are keen to recoup as much of the £24m they paid for Schneiderlin in the summer of 2015 and Everton are not far SHORT of that fee.
