The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced on 11 January that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US company Comp Air Aviation to “seal the partnership on production of multirole light utility aircrafts”.
Comp Air Aviation is known for its homebuilt light aircraft, but also developed larger factory built aircraft.
The NAF statement said the MoU was part of an effort to develop the indigenous NAFSA Eagle light utility aircraft and provides a “legal framework under which the R&D collaborative effort will work”. It is said two other US companies are involved, but did not name them.
