In a bid to move the country into a digital age, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a former VP at Goldman Sachs, Oswald Osaretin Guobadia, as his new Senior Special Assistant on Digital Transformation.
Oswald Guobadia is a business strategy and technology consultant with over twenty years’ experience in technology and business strategy, gained while working with global Fortune 500 companies including Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, and UBA Group.
After recognizing the contribution of the technology sector to GDP, President Buhari renamed Ministry of Communications to Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, following his reelection.
Guobadia, who is only 45, is respected industry-wide and his appointment is seen by the big tech companies as a brilliant move by Mr. President as the tech ecosystem has been ignored for too long.
