Lukasz Robert Pawlowski was appearing at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court for sentencing
A defendant has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after slitting his throat.
Lukasz Robert Pawlowski, 33, who was due to be sentenced for sexual assault was in the dock when it happened.
The 33-year-old, from Pembroke Dock, had asked to go to the toilet and when he came back he started muttering to himself before slashing at his throat.
He had previously pleaded guilty to sexual assault by grabbing and kissing a shop assistant.
A reporter for the Western Telegraph newspaper was in the court at the time and saw the incident and described seeing a lot of blood.
Pawlowski has been airlifted to Morriston Hospital in Swansea after two ambulances and the air ambulance were called to the scene.
A Western Telegraph reporter in the court saw the incident and wrote: “He came into the dock, then asked to go to the toilet.
“He went out, came back, muttered something then started slashing at his throat.
“The court room was then cleared out, and first aid was given by paramedics in the dock.”
The reporter did not see what weapon was used.
It is unclear where and how Pawlowski gained access to the weapon.
They added: “I’m not sure if he lost consciousness but he did lose a lot of blood.”
