After fighting with herders in the State, three operatives of the Osun Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, were injured to varying degrees.
Farmers in the Atakunmosa East local government region were disturbed by the herders’ actions, so they denounced them to Amotekun operatives.
When the armed herders noticed the Amotekun men approaching, they opened fire. Both sides suffered injuries as a result of Amotekun operatives defending themselves.
Following gunfights with the herders, three of the operatives sustained injuries, according to Osun Amotekun Corp Commander Bashir Adewinbi.
He stated: “Our men went to Kajola village to resolve the conflict between farmers and herders, but upon arriving, the herders ambushed and fired at them, leaving our men with no choice but to respond to them.”
“Police were called in to handle the situation. One of them was placed under arrest, but he was eventually freed. The injured are now better.
