Troops of the 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN have arrested four notorious armed robbers in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Media Information Officer, Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
“Operation SAFE HAVENAs part of efforts to rid Jos Metropolis of criminal elements, troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN sustained operations in the metropolis with positive outcomes,” the statement read.
“On 24 May 2025, troops on night patrol around Naraguta Area in Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State arrested 2 armed robbers. The suspects were arrested in possession of one pistol. The suspects and recovered pistol are in the custody of troops.
“Similarly, in the early hours of 25 May 2025, troops arrested a notorious armed robber near Crest Hotel at Corner Shagari in Jos North LGA of Plateau State in possession of one pistol and 5 rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
“Preliminary interrogation of the suspect led to the arrest of his cohort at Massalachin Idi, Ali Kazaure Area in Jos North LGA of Plateau State.
“During search of the hideout of the criminal, troops recovered another pistol loaded with 5 rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
“The arrested suspects are making useful confessions in custody to aid troops conduct follow-up operations to arrest other members of the criminal syndicate.
“Troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN will leave nothing to chance in protecting city centers across its Joint Operations Area, just as the hinterlands are being secured from miscreants.”
