We’ll heat it up just for you. Wike says enough is enough and challenges kidnappers.
Informs informants that they will never sleep again

On Wednesday, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike began visiting Area
Councils in the territory to foster trust, announcing that security agencies would make it more difficult for robbers going forward.
During his visit to the Bwari Area Council offices in Bwari town, Wike convened a town hall meeting with locals, traditional leaders, security, defense, and intelligence professionals, as well as other relevant parties.
In the upcoming days, the minister is anticipated to visit additional Councils.
At the gathering, Wike said that enough was enough and that informants for the bandits would not be allowed to continue sleeping among respectable citizens.
“One of the top priorities of Mr. President’s administration is security,” he declared. Due to
recent attacks, especially in Bwari, Mr. President called a high-level security meeting yesterday (Tuesday), which includes the Minister of Defence, myself, and all of the Service Chiefs.
Therefore, it is currently one of the top objectives that the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda seeks to address head-on.
“Things will not be the same as before. I’m here to demonstrate to you that we take this seriously.
It’s enough, bandits, all of you. We promise to use every effort to prevent this from occurring in the future.
“Every action must be taken to safeguard people and property. We have no business being in government if lives and property are not protected. I’m here to reassure you that we take this very seriously. Enough of those bandits and criminals. We’ll do every effort to ensure that something similar doesn’t occur in the future.
For this reason, Mr. President has authorized me to give the security agencies all the information they need as of this morning.
And in line with what Etsu- and Sarkin-Bwari said, we are not simply talking; we mean business.
Security agencies won’t be able to claim they lack the necessary equipment because we’ll supply everything.
I am aware of Bwari’s size and the boundaries it shares with the states of Nasarawa, Kaduna, and Niger.
We will make it hot for these criminals since I know they were driven out of the Northeast and are now heading here.
Wike also asked for public support, particularly in terms of giving information to security organizations.
“We are powerless without information, which is where you come in. Leaders in the community and tradition, you have a vital role to play. You must provide information to security agencies.
“The security authorities will take action in the coming days. Informants may be present in this meeting room as well.
Whoever you are, I don’t care. It doesn’t concern me. As the FCT Minister, I am. No more sleep for you. You won’t sleep again, informants.
This is a message for all the Area Councils, not just Bwari. We will stop by and speak with you from time to time. In the city, we refuse to take a seat.
The minister cautioned people against using crowdsourcing to obtain money for ransom since it enables terrorists to carry out other atrocities.
“We need to give up on the concept of announcing our plans to raise money on the radio. These criminals are pleased that people are raising money and showing care when you do that. He said, “I realize you’re worried that your loved ones are with kidnappers, but we have to work tirelessly to dissuade them.
John Gabaya, the Chairman of the Bwari Area Council, had remembered that during the week preceding Christmas last year, kidnappers brutally attacked
the quiet rural town of Tokulo, leaving numerous inhabitants gravely injured and kidnapping a few of the villagers.
“An additional attack on the border community of Kuduru ensued, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the kidnappers’ abduction of several others.”
“Kidnappers also broke into Zuma village, a Bwari town suburb, before the end of December 2023, killing two people and kidnapping a few more.”
“Sadly, kidnappers once more struck Dutse-Sagwari, a community along the Dutse-Bwari Expressway, in the first few days of the New Year.
During this attack, a number of persons were also taken hostage. Shortly after this tragic event, kidnappers launched another attack on Padan-Gwari Village,
capturing more residents in the process. Most recently, kidnappers attacked Kawu Village once more with great ferocity, inflicting injuries and taking some hostages.
These are the depressing and gloomy situations we have encountered during the past month. Even with the severity of these disasters, the Council has resisted giving up and losing.
He asked the minister for assistance in supplying security agencies with the vehicles, motorbikes, and fuel they required to tackle security concerns in the best possible way.
