On February 13, the Super Eagles and members of Team Nigeria were met by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the State House Council Chambers.
All members of Team Nigeria and the Super Eagles received the Member of the Order of Niger (MON) accolade from the President during their meeting.
In appreciation for the team’s and the Super Eagles’ service, President Tinubu also gave them an apartment in Nigeria and a parcel of land in the Federal Capital Territory.
Through their performances, the players and the Nigerian squad uplifted the nation’s spirit, and for this, President Tinubu expressed his gratitude. Even though the Super Eagles showed sportsmanship and a can-do mentality, he acknowledged it’s difficult to move on from a defeat. In addition, he expressed his immense pride in them.
The Super Eagles who finished second at the just concluded AFCON 2023 held in Ivory Coast, arrived in Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in the early hours of today February 13.
